There were a further four passengers from Tientsin, who left on their own account to volunteer, travelling 2nd class, but their names are not known. It is expected that a fourth contingent will leave here in the early part of January. A complete list of those who left on Tuesday is given below:-

a further 20 men, who bave volunteered for service in His Majesty's Army.

These men left yesterday by the P. & O. s.s. "Arcadia," connecting with the s.s. "Maloja" at Colombo, and are due to arrive in London about the 19th February.

CIRCULAR TO MEMBERS.

The Association's appeal for funds to defray the cost of passages, for men volunteering for service in the British Army, has resulted in over Taels 25,000 being subscribed. The Committee wish to thank all Subscribers, members and non-members, for their ready response at a time when Subscription Lists were to be met with on all sides. Up to date there have been despatched from Shanghai the following numbers directly under the auspices of the Association:-
